CURRENT ACTIVITIES

  • Represent clients before the court for various types of lawsuits (Labour, Civil, and Criminal cases).
  • Process business registrations for large numbers the companies (Foreign and Local) and international organizations (INGOs) and provide them with legal consultations, as required.
  • Review Internal Regulations and employment contracts for different Companies and INGOs and harmonize them with the New and Old Iraqi Labor Laws of Iraq and Kurdistan region and the related laws.
  • Initiate litigation in support of client interests and defend clients against litigation.
  • Advocate for client interests before registration of property offices concerning property matters.
  • Issue licenses for apartments and real estate matters.
  • Issuing the Visa and Residencies for the foreign staff of NGOs and international companies
  • Any other legal duties that fall within my purview.

WORKED FOR THE KURDISTAN BAR ASSOCIATION AS A LIAISON OFFICER AND COORDINATOR FROM 2007 TO NOV 2012 AS A PART-TIME JOB. MY MAIN TASKS WERE THE FOLLOWING:

 

  1. Coordinate between Kurdistan Bar and the other Bars and Associations abroad like UIA and IBA.
  2. Translate incoming and outgoing English documents for the Bar Association
  3. Act as a focal point to arrange and facilitate the process of participation of the Kurdish lawyers in International events and conferences, especially with UIA (International Association of Lawyers) for Swiss, US, Spain, Turkey, and German conferences.
  4. Made Kurdistan Bar Association a member of the International Bar Association (IBA) since 2009 as a collective member.
  5. Coordinate, facilitate and translate all the capacity-building programs that had a direct effect on the lawyer’s knowledge and legal capacity, like the training held through World Bank – UIA – KBA Training program for the lawyers in Kurdistan region,
  6.  Actively work for the USAID program as a facilitator and translator lawyer in the training program for trainee lawyers.
